Nicholas is a finance student at the University of Utah with an emphasis in Advanced Financial Analysis. Currently, he is an analyst at Scholars Opportunity Fund on the fundamental signals team and a venture capital student analyst at Sorenson Impact Institute.

At Scholars Opportunity Fund, he is one of the fund's inaugural analysts, researching event-driven special situation strategies and taking them from idea to fund-level trading. At the Sorenson Impact Institute, he sources and screens early-stage companies and prepares materials for the investment committee. He is also building a sourcing engine that uses AI to sort through deal flow from accelerators. Both roles call for the same attention to detail, whether the subject is a pre-seed company or a trading strategy. He is drawn to analytical, high-stakes environments where data and judgment shape real decisions.

Away from the markets, Nicholas is happiest outside. Film photography lets him slow down and connect with nature, and it teaches him to have confidence in an outcome long before he can see it, much like an investment or a decision in the market. The same pull toward the outdoors leads him to playing golf and summiting peaks.
